HLF Project Overview

The church roof had been identified as in need of repair by our previous inspecting architect, Christopher Thomas Architect. Since 2012/2013, funding has been sought to enable the church to carry out the necessary work. A project team was formed from the church membership to develop our bid for funds and write any applications, headed by our vicar, Revd Canon Eve Pitts.

Following the award of the 1st round development grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund in 2016, we have worked with our project architect Donald Insall Associates, (now incorporating Christopher Thomas Architect), to develop the plans and specifications for the roof repairs, and to make investigations such as a bat survey and an asbestos survey. The wider church membership has also been involved in fundraising to contribute to the project, by organising fairs, social events, and also making personal donations.

The roof repairs project includes the following tasks:

Following a selection and tendering process, Midland Conservation Ltd from Aldridge, Walsall, was chosen as our contractor to carry out the repairs. PDQS Ltd, a quantity surveying company based in Worcester, has worked with Donald Insall Associates to manage the project costs and spending.

Works on the roof commenced in November 2018, and are scheduled to finish in March 2019.
